The continuous advancement in robot vacuum technology has led to a groundbreaking innovation—the Roborock Saros Z70, a robotic vacuum cleaner with extendable paws for enhanced cleaning. This innovative device is set to debut at the 2025 CES and is poised to set a new standard for home cleaning in the future.
What sets the Saros Z70 apart is its "OmniGrip" mechanical arm, which can extend and twist to pick up small items or debris from the floor and move them to designated areas. This robotic vacuum not only handles regular cleaning tasks but also records and recognizes items that can be picked up. After the initial cleaning is completed, it returns to retrieve these items and dispose of them. Users can also manually control the mechanical arm via a smartphone app for easy operation if needed.

The Saros Z70's mechanical arm is equipped with a camera, which aids in more precise picking of items, offering an interactive cleaning experience. However, the arm has a limited carrying capacity, capable of lifting items weighing no more than 300 grams. During a private demonstration, the Saros Z70 struggled to pick up a ball of socks, resulting in several resets. Nonetheless, Roborock has mentioned that the demonstration used an outdated software version, and future updates will enhance the performance and accuracy of the mechanical arm.
In addition to picking up small items, the Saros Z70 boasts all the basic functions of a high-end sweeping robot, including floor cleaning, mopping, and corner sweeping. It also supports integration with smart home platforms like Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa, further enhancing user experience.
The Roborock Saros Z70 is scheduled to be officially launched later this year, with the exact price yet to be announced. Despite some areas still requiring improvement in the current demonstration, as technology continues to evolve, this robotic vacuum cleaner promises a more intelligent and efficient future for household cleaning.
