微软升级Outlook:离线邮件、安全加密功能,办公效率新体验

Microsoft recently unveiled a major update plan for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users, with the new Outlook email app set to launch in January 2025 after a comprehensive redesign. This update will primarily enhance offline access and email attachment storage capabilities, aiming to boost user productivity and experience in the office.

According to Windows Latest, the new Outlook version will not only allow users to access and save emails and attachments while offline but also feature a range of practical improvements. For instance, users can now easily move emails between multiple accounts and add personalized descriptions to each account, making email management more convenient and organized.

In terms of security, the new Outlook introduces S/MIME signing and encryption features, offering users a higher level of information security. Additionally, the app now offers more flexibility in the recipient delimiter settings, allowing users to choose between commas or semicolons to separate multiple recipient addresses.

The new Outlook also adds a name pronunciation setting feature, particularly useful for international team collaboration. Users can set their own name pronunciation based on their own habits, avoiding communication barriers caused by incorrect pronunciations. The enhanced Copilot functionality provides intelligent services like sharing custom prompts and generating meeting summaries, further improving efficiency.

Despite the new Outlook not meeting the expected adoption rate in the early stages of its launch, Microsoft has not given up. Instead, they have continued to improve and optimize the app, striving to provide users with more comprehensive features and an exceptional user experience. These efforts are undoubtedly set to make the new Outlook more competitive in the market in the future.

It is worth noting that with the launch of the new Outlook, Microsoft also announced that the "Email and Calendar" app will cease services on December 31st. Therefore, users need to quickly adapt to the new Outlook or continue using the classic version to ensure their email and calendar services are not affected.
